Rehearsal Room 3

My Set design inspiration was to show the decay and distortion of this dictator character through the fixer within the metaphore of the room itself
The imagery of a distopian dictator's office being warped by a malevolent form of decay into the shape of a giant eye was inspired by the peice's themes of corruption, pollution, survailance and control.
The interaction I want the audience to have with the space is to explore the room and put together the dynamic of The Dictator and The Fixer and come to their own conclusions about the characters and their story and the impact it has had on the world in which the characters inhabit.
Another aspect that I focused on was the sustainability of the materials. Especially seeing as global climate change is the major focal point of this project, therefore creating a design in which the practical application of the set contradicts the message the project is trying to convey would be counter productive and do more harm than good. With that in mind I have focused on using furniture and materials that can be reused and if not, recyclable.
